30/52

Having just returned from 5 days of vacation in the Waterslide Capital of the World, Fun is the theme this week.
The Elder and The Youngest at the pool
The Younger and The Youngest lounging in a chaise
The Elder burning up the go-kart track
The Younger in the Bumper boats
The Youngest playing with the empty Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean box
(We're a little Harry Potter obsessed around here.
By the way, those are every flavor for reals, I tried the soap flavor, it was vile)
Joining Jodi for 52 portraits.

28 and 29/52

All Three - We were at the Zoo today, this is our obligatory "everyone on the tortoise statue" photo.
The Youngest found him quite intriguing.
Last week (while the Youngest was napping) I took the Elder and the Younger out to the Mall of America for Lego day.
They each got to play with lots of cool legos, posed by giant statues built by master lego builders, and got some souvenir sets to play with too!

I was sick (with an ear infection, what am I, 2?) and didn't get around to uploading these last week.
So this is a combo 28th and 29th week post. Joining up with Jodi at Che and Fidel for 52 portraits.

Lazy Summer Evening

I was just sitting here, a little hotter than comfy, listening to this amazing recording from the 20s, the kids playing a board game in the next room with Dada, it all feels like the perfect lazy summer evening.
Now to get me a dish-doing robot who also brings a completed meal for dinner...

Yarn Along

It's Wednesday, so that means it's time to Yarn Along with Ginny.
I've been absent for a little while, it's been a wild few weeks of lots of work and a little play in there too.
I have reached my limit on boring stockinette on my Gnarled Oak sweater. One sleeve is finished, and I have the other one on the needles, but it's on hold right now so I can make a model for the yarn store where I work.
This is the Chevron Baby Blanket from Espace Tricot, and I am knitting with Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Cotton. It's dreamy.
A Dance With Dragons is still my go-to book when I have a moment here or there, but I am not making too much progress.

What's on your needles today?
Head on over to Ginny's to see more knitting and books.

27/52 (a bit late)

The Elder playing the outdoor piano at a local cafe.
The Youngest caught red-handed, literally, after making a strawberry mess.
The Younger reminding himself that he can control his emotions (it's been a challenge lately) he came up and told me "It was raining mean emotions, and now I have an umbrella of niceness."

Golly these kids are my delight and my joy.

Joining Jodi (quite late) at Che and Fidel.

3 of 52

Jodi's challenge this week was to choose our favorite three photos from the first half of 52 portraits.
The Youngest - Cozy, Happy and Thoughtful: Weeks 3, 9 and 19
The Elder - How she loves life, and all it has to offer in sports, academics and music: Weeks 16, 14 and 19
The Younger - Sweet, Fun and Silly: Weeks 12, 24 and 23.

These three small people are such fun (and sometimes quite a challenge).
My life would be nearly empty without them.
Head on over to Jodi's place to see some truly lovely work by other adoring parents.
